If you are looking for more of a funky backwoods adventure than the Honey Island Kayak Swamp Tour is the trip for you! This is the perfect paddle for groups, and allows time to personally explore. On this trip you will even paddle through the set the HBO True Detective drama. Transportation for this tour is provide at an additional cost of $20 per person from the French Quarter | private residence and hotel pickups can also be provided at $40 per person.
If you can dedicate a day to outdoors activities on your trip to New Orleans you must take part in an amazing combo tour that will include Swamp Kayaking along with a Plantation Tour. This 8-hour tour provides a rich cultural and ecological experience of New Orleans, Louisianian. Depending on availability this tour will visit either the Whitney Plantation or the Oak Alley Plantation. You will have an opportunity to purchase some authentic Cajun food as this tour will stop by the B&C Seafood Restaurant. Transportation is also provided apart of this tour.
If a day adventure might be too much for you checkout the 1/2 day Shell Bank Extended Bayou Adventure. This tour has a 10am pickup from the city at 437 Esplanade Avenue, and will drop back off in the city at 4pm. This tour is not for the “beginner” kayaker. This tour is for the adventure seeker who is looking for an opportunity to go a little bit further and see a whole lot more. Mid-way through the trip you will stop for lunch overlooking Lake Maurepas with food prepared by Chef Barbeau, the Executive chef of Atchafalaya. On the return you will be provide with binoculars for bird watching from your Naturalist guide. You will also be given small dip nets to catch and ID the areas unique water critters. This is truly a non-touristy authentic experience that will provide lifelong memories. All in all this will be 4-hours on the water, and 6-hours in total include transportation and lunch.
